November Time!

I love November. It is such a nice fall month where the weather actually starts cooling down. Plus, it reminds us to be thankful for all that we have and prepares us for the wonderful Christmas Season. I am not going to post a bunch of thankful blogs like I did last year instead, I am just going to say that I am thankful that I have all that I have. Everything in my life, good and bad, help me be even more grateful for what I have.

Just an update on the baby, she is doing good. I have been on and off of bed rest in October but, November is a new month and I feel great! Gracie is a mover and a shaker this week so that has been very very comforting to me. I love when she kicks me now because it gives me the assurance that she is there and she is safe. That is what I am most grateful for. We can't wait to meet our little love bug and we both can't believe that I only have 7 weeks left! Where did the time go? Am I really going to be a mom? It's crazy but wonderful all at the same time.

Beau and I painted the window for Thanksgiving this year and I love it! I also love that it was something that we did together. He did the drawing and I filled it in for him. I love my husband he is so creative. Also, I will post my 32 1/2 week picture but, it's not very good. I think the picture looks fuzzy but it could just be my eyes...who knows. Actually, I am not posting this picture it is way too fuzzy and Beau says it isn't my eyes SO I will post a 33 week picture on Wednesday :)

Happy Halloween!!

This October was full of action. I would have to say it was the craziest month of the year for Beau and I. We took some time last weekend to finally get into the Halloween spirit by carving pumpkins with our really good friends Andrea and Kevin. They didn't know what they were getting themselves into when they came to carve with us! We had the carving tools and pictures all printed out to carve. No more triangle eyes and goofy smile Jack o Lanterns for them! It was SUCH a blast we love hanging out with them.
Beau did this lovely Harry Potter pumpkin that he used the shaving and carving technique with. He had so much fun. He is a big pumpkin carving fan.

All of our pumpkins all lined up. It goes Kevin, Andrea, Beau's and mine! This picture is kind of fuzzy sorry.
Here is a picture of my pumpkin! I thought it turned out very cute and I was proud because usually I give up and let Beau do all the carving while I watch a movie and eat roasted seeds.

On Halloween we dressed up as Mother Nature and Father Time. It was so much fun! We went to a Halloween party that night and just had a blast. I think Beau looks awesome! We had a great time and hope everyone else did. Happy Halloween everyone!
Oh, I forgot, we also went to our wards Halloween party on Thursday where they had a pot luck and trunk or treat. It was too cold to trunk or treat so all the kids just went around in the gym and got candy. It was really fun that we got to dress up twice this year.

Moving on....again

Well, it seems as if Beau and I are meant to live an insanely crazy life. We have learned to swing at even the craziest curve balls and hit a homerun every time. We have moved 5 times in the 2 years that we have been blissfully wed and it seems the sixth move is right around the corner.

This is our lovely apartment where we currently reside. It is a fuzzy picture but I couldn't find another one that looked good so this is what you get. It looks a little different because we have added stuff but, you get the idea.

Our first apartment in Cedar City was this little basement in an 8-plex. We really enjoyed living here and we loved being able to have our little puppy with us. I can't wait to move and get a new dog!
Our California apartment was very nice and very fun also. I liked living there because I never had to worry about rent or utilities :). But, the appliances were brand new so that was also a plus.
Jim and Mechel were gracious and loving enough to allow us to live with them for four months after our landlord died and we were kicked out of our first apartment. I had mono and was sick most of it but, we really enjoyed our time there and are grateful that we had a place to land for a while before we left for California.
Our beloved first apartment at 1514 23rd street. We loved this apartment because we got to paint the apartment and make it our own. Too bad Fern had to pass away and we were kicked out...oh well the apartment was haunted anyway. No kidding it really was!!
So you can see that moving is in our blood. We have become pros at packing, sorting, getting rid of junk, and moving in record time. Our next move is an exciting one. To give you the short and sweet version of a very long story that I have told at least 12 times, Beau is not on track for graduation. His adviser kind of didn't really pay attention to him as an individual and kind of screwed us over. Pretty much he cannot do anything in math until he takes calculus 2 which he will not be able to take until fall 2010 which means he can' t start the math program until spring 2011. Also, we found out that his adviser was having him take education classes when he is not admitted into the program and they won't let him into the program until he finishes his math major. Confusing? Yeah, I know. Anyway we got screwed over but, we look at it as a great blessing. So we had to make a decision for our future pretty quick. Since graduation at SUU is estimated for Fall 2014 we decided that there was no way we were going to wait another 4 years. Beau already has his associates degree after this semester and so we prayed, fasted, and went to the temple looking for guidance on what to do. The answer came swiftly and with assurance. In fact, it came so swiftly I thought that it must be the wrong choice because things don't usually come that easily for us. So we will be moving in May so Beau can start the education program and the math program in June at.....
What? I have never in my life thought about living in Logan. I have only ever been there once and we just drove through but, it is where our next move is. It just feels so right! He will start summer school right away and he can apply for the education department in January and be working on it at the same time as the math program. It is such a blessing. We are really sad to be moving away from Cedar City. We have made lots of really great friends here and have built our lives here. This move will be very different than all our other moves because we will have a 5 month old coming with us but, we know the Lord will take care of us as long as we are doing what he asks.

So with this I would like to make the announcement to our friends in Cedar City that we are quitting the apartment manager job in May and so if you are interested let me know. It's a GREAT opportunity and Brad is an awesome guy so let us know!!

Cedar City Baby Shower

I had the best baby shower yesterday for my friends in Cedar City. Beau and I have been so blessed by the people that we have met and the bonds we have formed with great people while living in Cedar. Janece planned all the fun and Lacie brought all the yummy yummy food. We played lots of games and just laughed a lot. Janece had two games that I have not seen played before and they were fun. One, which was not so much fun as embarrassing, was the yarn game. You take a piece of yarn and guess how big round the pregnant person is. Then, you measure the pregnant person around and compare everyone's yarn to the one that had been wrapped around you. It was hysterical. The other game I really enjoyed was a questionnaire that Janece had come up with and people had to answer the questions about me and my pregnancy and then compare them to my answers. That was fun for me to.
Janece made me a guest book/advice book/memory book/ scrapbook and everyone signed it will good stories about what their moms did for them when they were little. It was so nice to see girls that I don't get to see very often now that we aren't in the same ward anymore. Baby Gracie got lots of cute things and I got GREAT advice from some new mothers. It was such a wonderful time. Thanks everyone for coming and being a part of my life :)

These are two diaper cakes that Janece made. My theme was "sweet pea"
so she made these adorable peas in a pod! She is the best.

The measuring game...

Ignore that look on my face. This is Janece measuring me!

Some of my fun, fabulous guests!

While the girls were inside playing games, opening presents, and eating delicious food Beau went outside to paint our windows for Halloween. It is something that he did last year and wanted to do this year. He does SUCH an amazing job with the painting that I hope he does it every year.

updating our lives!

Hello!

Sorry I am such a slacker and never blog. Really, I have no excuse like school or that I'm too busy it's just that I'm too lazy. I thought many of you would like to know what we have been doing since the beginning of August seeing as how that is the last time I wrote anything.

  • In August Heidi and Nathan Hiatt came to visit us. It was so fun. Beau and Nate had a BLAST together just being themselves. I think that they bottle up their true personalities for when they see each other and then they let it out on the world...kind of scary. But we love them still. Heidi and I went to St. George and shopped while they went and played on Nate's sand rail. So much fun. It is really hard not living by them and being able to see them every weekend like we used to...maybe someday. My wonderful favorite friend Jessie's little sister got married in August and we got to drive down to St. George and see Jess. It was SO GREAT!! I hadn't seen Jess in probably a year and so I was very excited to see her. She is so wonderful. If you ever get a chance to meet her, your life will be bettered. Jess has a way of making everyone feel welcome and totally special. It was a blessing for us to be able to spend some time with her. Once again, I wish we lived closer. I need my Jessie time.
  • Beau started school and it has been a hard adjustment for me. It is so crazy when you work so hard to get a degree and graduate but you don't take into account that feeling of complete inadequacy it will leave you once everyone else returns. I have been going to school since I was in pre-school and now, no more. Beau tells me that my job is to grow our baby but, that just doesn't seem like enough. The feeling is starting to fade as I see him come home with tons of homework assignments but still, it's a loss I never thought I would experience. He is doing GREAT though and I am so proud of him.
  • Beau cut his leg. He was doing construction for some part time work, stepped into a PVC pipe that was in the ground, and cut up his leg. Oh the fun never stops with us.

  • For labor day we go tot go to the cabin and hang out with the family. It was a very mellow weekend and we enjoyed ourselves. We got to see Zach and Stacie and catch up with them AND we got to hang out with Jens, Tiffany, Connor and Logan. It was so wonderful. Connor and Logan are growing up so much and they are adorable. It was so fun to see the differences in their personalities really come out now that they have started pre-school. I am once again sad that we do not live closer so we could be a bigger part of everyone's lives. We also got to hang out with Mom and Dad and that is always a blast. Beau and I love just hanging out with the parents doing nothing but playing a game or chatting. Mom got us the CUTEST outfits for Gracie and happened to find one of Beau's baby blankets that Grandma Toone had given him when he was born. That is so special to us to have something from the past that we can give to our little girl. It was a bitter sweet weekend since the family had to say goodbye to their faithful dog Anika. She will be missed and she was definitely loved.

  • From there Beau took me to Spanish Fork and my sister picked me up to take me to Moab for a week. I missed Beau every second I was gone but, it was a great opportunity to spend some much needed time with my wonderful family. I haven't been able to see them since Graduation in May and so, it was wonderful. I hung out with my sisters and my mom, played with my nieces and nephews, and stayed with my Grandma. It was great! I was sad to have to leave but also ready. Being away from Beau isn't something that I do very well.
So that is about all that we have been up to. The baby is doing great. She is almost two pounds now and I am showing finally. I was having the hardest time because I felt like people were looking at me thinking that I looked like I gained an extra 15 pounds, when in reality I had but it was our little girl! I took one picture before church yesterday for Tiffany because she convinced me it's good to take pictures. My face looks HUGE and it's because I am retaining water so please, don't judge. :) So here I am, 6 months pregnant.
